We are pleased to introduce you to our newest member of the Pool Scouts corporate team, Lynlea Rudell! Lynlea joined the team as the Marketing Manager in June. She brings a plethora of marketing, advertising, client services and project management experience to the role.

Get to Know Lynlea

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lynlea grew up a die-hard LSU fan. As a competitive swimmer, swim coach and lifeguard, Lynlea spent a majority of her early life in the pool. After receiving an undergraduate Business degree from Elon University, she went back to Baton Rouge where she received her MBA from Louisiana State University. While working towards her MBA, she coached her alma mater high school swim team and led them to win the Louisiana State Championship meet.

Lynlea with her family in the parkFor the past sixteen years, Lynlea has worked in marketing and advertising. Most recently she worked at a local Norfolk ad agency, where she was an Account Supervisor for a variety of accounts. During her time as an Account Supervisor, she created advertising strategies to drive customer recruitment for the retail, hospitality, tourism, real estate, higher education, insurance and financial institutions. This taught her how to manage multiple accounts, which transfers well into navigating franchisee support for Pool Scouts. Lynlea currently resides with her husband, Brian, and their two children, Paige and Parker, in Virginia Beach.

Q&A with Lynlea

Hear from Lynlea on what made her decide to join Pool Scouts, what she brings to the team, and more!

What led you to work for Pool Scouts?

In high school, I was a competitive swimmer, lifeguard and swim coach. I was in and around pools more than anywhere else. When I decided to study marketing in college, I said my dream job would be to work as a brand manager for a swimming-related company. This job is about as close as it gets!  Additionally, I had been following Buzz Franchise Brands for quite some time and was drawn to the corporate culture. During my discovery process, I heard the story of when Mosquito Joe was sold, and how CEO Kevin Wilson made sure that the jobs of the people who worked for the company remained in Virginia Beach, so no families were displaced. That story gave me insight into the company’s leadership team and I was sold.

What are the biggest strengths professionally that you bring to the Pool Scouts team?

The biggest strengths that I bring are a positive attitude, and drive to learn and grow from this experience. My agency background prepared me for many aspects of this job, but I am also having to learn from the ground up about the franchise world and the related systems. With everything Pool Scouts has going on from a franchise development standpoint, I have had to hit the ground running. It has been a challenge for sure, but I am up for it!

What is your favorite part of your position at Pool Scouts?

I have not been here long, but my favorite part about the job so far is the team of people I have around me. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming, and that has made a huge impact.

Lynlea has “dived” right in to her marketing manager position, fully committed to supporting the franchisees and the corporate team. We look forward to continuing to work with her and seeing more of the amazing skills she brings to the Pool Scouts family.
