Pool Scouts, the 110-plus-unit pool cleaning and maintenance franchise, has steadily grown since its founding in 2016, growing to a triple-digit number of territories and serving 18 states. With much to celebrate within franchise development and a growing network of dedicated owners, Pool Scouts was able to invite members of the brand to meet in person for the first time since 2020, at its 2022 annual Pool Scouts Convention.

The brand-wide event took place in Cancún, Mexico, and ran from Wednesday, November 2, until Saturday, November 5.

“This event was a great opportunity for our franchisees and the corporate team to come together, learn from one another, celebrate successes and share best practices,” said brand president Michael Wagner. “The Convention was a tremendous success and a wonderful, fulfilling experience for all involved.”

With an agenda jam-packed with engaging activities, panels, sessions, speeches and an awards dinner, attendees spent their time meeting and engaging with colleagues, learning about important best-practice business topics, networking with vendors and championing the brand’s success.

Information sessions and speeches included:

  • Wagner’s State of Pool Scouts 2022 address and Selling The Difference speech
  • Excellent Customer Experience lessons lead by Marketing Director, Lynlea Rudell and Digital Director, Bridget Rawls
  • Data Tool tutorials conducted by executives Edward Barham and Russell Gesher
  • An insightful speech from author Ross Shafer
  • Franchisee panels on business ownership best practices and planning/budgeting
  • Vendor presentations with companies such as WebPunch, V Digital and Serviceminder

“Spending time meeting, learning, talking, sharing and playing with other franchisees and those who provide so much support

to us in the corporate office was an incredible opportunity,” added Terri Rowe of Pool Scouts of Austin.

During the Pool Scouts Awards Dinner on Friday night, several franchisees system-wide were recognized for outstanding achievements this year. The High Dive Award for highest revenue and the Pool Net Award for most new customers went to Tiffiny Consoli, owner of Pool Scouts of the Greater Triangle Area, and Brian Seeliger with Pool Scouts of Nashville. Seeliger also won the Rookie of the Year title for his impressive statistics since opening in June 2021. Best Buzz Award (for highest NPS) went to Tim and Suzan Burke with Pool Scouts of South Charlotte and Matt Hollis with Pool Scouts of Boise.

Additionally, the Biggest Splash Award went to Steve and Michelle Stern with Pool Scouts of North Dallas & Park Cities for the most business engagement, Local Scout Award went to Joseph Golio with Pool Scouts of Lehigh Acres for best local marketing, and Charlie Hook, owner of Pool Scouts of Hartford received Pool Leader Award for best attitude.

The general consensus from attendees was that the event was a fantastic opportunity to learn, grow and convene regarding the model and milestones of the brand.

“Reviews have been really positive, and we have been receiving an influx of franchising opportunity requests post-convention, which just reaffirms that we are doing something right. Occasions like this help make our franchise system stronger for the future,” said Wagner.

“The sessions were packed full of actionable and inspiring information and the Buzz Franchise Brands family could not have been more fun and welcoming. I cannot wait for the next one!” said Anna Hughes, General Manager of Pool Scouts of North Atlanta.
