**Our “Scout Spotlight” blog series introduces you to the people that make Pool Scouts great. We’ll offer you a little insight into a member of our team, where they are from and what makes them unique!**
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lynlea grew up a die-hard LSU fan. As a competitive swimmer, swim coach and lifeguard, Lynlea spent a majority of her early life in the pool. After receiving an undergraduate Business degree from Elon University, she went back to Baton Rouge where she received her MBA from Louisiana State University. While working towards her MBA, she coached her alma mater high school swim team and led them to win the Louisiana State Championship meet.
Hear from Lynlea on what made her decide to join Pool Scouts, what she brings to the team, and more!
If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why? I would go back to Kyoto, Japan. I went once and fell in love with the city for so many reasons – beauty, tradition, sense of community, cleanliness, food, and spirituality.
What is one thing you are excited about for where Pool Scouts is heading? It has been rapid-fire since I started and the growth has been very exciting. We have built a great team and are still adding more members. We all work really well together and it is wonderful to be part of such a great team. I am excited that our franchisees will have a full support team working with them to help them grow and succeed.
What led you to this career? In college, I was very interested in people’s behaviors and creative writing, this led me to become a marketing major. When I first moved to Virginia Beach, I met a lot of people in advertising and made connections which led me to my first job at an agency. After working for a few agencies, I really wanted to move to the client-side and be dedicated to managing a brand. In school, my dream job was to be a brand manager for a swim-related company. This is about as close as it gets!
What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime? To watch my kids grow into adults and find success and happiness.
What does your day to day look like as Pool Scouts Director of Marketing? Overseeing the development of the brand, emails, meetings, check-ins with franchisees, check-ins with corporate team members, training, developing plans and content, working with vendors and team members to drive the brand forward.
How do you feel like you’re making a difference in the lives/businesses of Pool Scouts franchisees? In order to grow and succeed in the pool business, you need customers. My role is to guide their marketing programs to gain customers. We have seen great numbers in terms of customer acquisition and growth for our franchisees so I think that is how I impact them most.
Since joining the Pool Scouts team Lynlea has made a big splash, diving right in to her marketing role, fully committed to supporting the franchisees and the corporate team. We look forward to continuing to work with her and seeing more of the amazing skills she brings to the Pool Scouts family.
