As a business that is centered around the water, Pool Scouts knows how important pool safety is. That’s why the 110-plus-unit pool cleaning and maintenance franchise partners with Hope Floats Foundation to raise money during May, which is Water Safety Month, to provide swim lessons for families in need.

Franchise locations within the Pool Scouts organization donate a percentage of each service performed during Water Safety Month to provide scholarships through Hope Floats. And this year, Pool Scouts raised over $16,000, which is enough to cover 800 swim lessons all over the United States.

Hope Floats is an organization whose mission is to protect every life from drowning through education and water safety awareness. The foundation partners with locations across 31 states to fundraise for swimming lessons.

Drowning is the leading cause of death in children under age 5, and the second leading cause of death in children under 14. The money raised is an amazing feat that will change the lives of many families, providing them with peace of mind that their kids are safe near the water.

Water Safety Month is an annual awareness campaign created by the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals. The purpose is to recognize the importance of water safety for all, to help curb tragedies when swimming.

“We are incredibly honored to partner with Hope Floats Foundation and are very proud that we were able to raise enough money to provide hundreds of swim lessons for kids,” said Michael Wagner, president of Pool Scouts. “Water safety is a paramount value to our brand, so it is great for our franchisees to be able to work with a charity that is close to our hearts.”
