Pool Scouts Partners with Hope Floats to Bring Nearly 800 Swim Lessons to Children

Water Safety awareness is an initiative that Pool Scouts cares deeply about. Not only are we focused on cleaning and maintaining pools, but we always want to provide a safe environment for our customers and their families. We believe it’s essential to spread awareness about the importance of learning how to swim, and Water Safety Month gives us the perfect opportunity to share the news and educate families.

This past May during Water Safety Month, Pool Scouts partnered with Hope Floats Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing swim scholarships to underprivileged children. Pool Scouts franchisees across the country raised $16,000 with Hope Floats Foundation to provide swim lessons to children who otherwise would not have been able to afford them.

“Our franchisees have always been active in their communities and dedicated to giving back,” said Pool Scouts President Michael Wagner. “Pool Scouts is very focused on the importance of water safety, and we’re incredibly thankful for Hope Floats and the franchisees who have been working so hard on this initiative. Swimming is an essential and joyous life skill that is very important for children to learn, and these donations will help in empowering children and their families with the knowledge and skills to save their own lives.”

The Startling Statistics

According to the CDC, drowning is the lead cause of accidental death in the United States for children ages 4 and under. The good news is, participating in swim lessons reduces the risk of drowning by 88%, and that’s where Hope Floats is making a difference. They are partnering with swim schools and businesses across the country to provide swim lesson scholarships.

The partnership between Pool Scouts and Hope Floats during the month of May resulted in 800 swim lessons for children. Pool Scouts of the Greater Triangle Area franchisee Tiffiny Consoli was able to raise enough funds at her location for 60 swim lessons in the Raleigh area!

“As a franchisee, I am proud to align with a brand that focuses on more than just business,” Consoli said. “These kinds of partnerships showcase the values of the Pool Scouts brand and the ways in which they give franchisees a platform for community-driven efforts. After such a successful year, it feels great to be able to give back to all those families that have supported us.”

Looking to the Future

The water safety initiative with Hope Floats is one that Pool Scouts cares deeply about. As the Pool Scouts franchise system continues to grow, we can’t wait to see the funds raised and number of swim lessons that will be provided as we gain more franchisees.

After a year of triple-digit growth in pool sales due to homeowners spending more time in their outdoor spaces following the pandemic, quality swim lessons are more important than ever. Pool Scouts remains dedicated to providing a safe environment for families to enjoy their pools, and is looking forward to the continued spread of awareness as we head into 2022!
