Life-long friends Omar Sanchez, Albert Sardina and Eric Gonzalez have officially expanded the Pool Scouts footprint into the Miami area by becoming the owners of Pool Scouts of South Miami. Two of the three childhood friends have prior franchising experience, with Gonzalez owning a Smoothie King and Sanchez owning a Mosquito Joe. Sardina is excited to dive into franchise ownership with his friends to diversify their multi-brand portfolio with their newest business opportunity focused in pool cleaning service.

Hear From Our Newest Pool Service Franchise Owners

While all three business partners bring different backgrounds and experience to the table, one thing they all have in common is their enthusiasm for bringing a new level of professional pool service under an established brand to their Miami community.

“Franchising allows you to buy a business in a box,” said Sanchez. “There’s no guessing, and there’s a lot more support with franchising. Before Mosquito Joe, I had no knowledge of how to run a pest control business. They gave me the tools I needed to be successful, which is why I pushed another franchise opportunity on Albert and Eric, knowing the low overhead of a service-based industry.”

Gonzalez added, “We did think about starting our own business, but went the franchising route because there was a proven model, and we felt more comfortable investing our money in something with a solid structure. Especially with the times we’re currently in, we didn’t want to take too big of a risk by starting our own business from scratch.”

With such a high number of pools in the Miami area and everyone stuck at home, the Pool Scouts franchise opportunity made perfect sense.

“We liked how Pool Scouts was service-based and was considered an essential business during COVID-19,” said Sardina. “About three out of five houses in Miami have pools, and they need a quality service like Pool Scouts to come in and treat them regularly. Pool Scouts has the technology that mom-and-pop pool companies don’t have. We have an app, text message capabilities and so on that really give customers peace of mind.”

With increased demand in the home sector during COVID-19, Pool Scouts expanded by 32 territories over the past year, more than doubling the total count.

Pool Scouts is the Clear Choice for Franchising

The Miami team was also attracted to the infrastructure of parent company Buzz Franchise Brands. Sanchez, having prior experience with Buzz Franchise Brands from its previous ownership of the Mosquito Joe brand, knew that he was in good hands.

“I had a good handle on the systems, which made me feel comfortable purchasing the Pool Scouts franchise. The support systems and family atmosphere are amazing — they have your best interests in mind, and they want you to succeed.”

Pool Scouts of South Miami is now open and servicing their neighbors in Pinecrest, South Miami, Oakland Grove, Coral Gables, Miami and Coconut Grove communities.
